Of course it's a business, but it's also an art.  Like I said, it's good that he's taking feedback into account, but I also don't want the team to be discouraged from trying new things.  It's a balancing act.

So far, I've liked all the changes, and I would be happy if that trend were to continue.

I'm with IG.  This game becomes less Jaffe, and more casual fans with every poll.  I am glad that he is asking us though, instead of taking Twisted in several new directions and unsure which direction is the right one.  It shows that he does care about what the fans want, but at the same time I was happy with all of the decisions he was making (minus Grimm's look).

Of the choices listed though, I will pick A.  B sounds like a step backwards at this point, and I would vote for anything that involves possibly seeing Thumper, Mortimer, and No Face again.  It sounds like those characters might not exist at this point and I would rather them be playable in their cars (or other cars) even if they don't have endings themselves.  I am FINE with Single Player not being the main focus of TMPS3.  Going back and doing an end story for 12 characters seems so ancient now after I've already seen the evolution of TM.

Stop looking back and go forward, Jaffe.  And do what you think is right because like IG said it's all about art and perception of it, and your perceptions have been pretty spot on so far so keep running with the ball and head for the pylon.  See you in March/April  Smiley

I personally think Jaffe needs to just keep doing what he's doing for right now. Save the new charecters for DLC. That way we can maybe get more than just a new charcter. Here's an example of what I was thinking...

NO FACE Pack (DLC)

Frank Mckruthcen as a driver. (not locked to a vehicle)
The Crazy 8 car (wich any driver can use)
An ending for Frank (I guess 3 would be to much to ask)
New Faction: The Boxers (Your goons would run around in robes or just boxer shorts, gloves or taped fists, belt or no belt, headgear or just a mashed up face, etc, etc.)

Just some thoughts.  Cheesy

I made a post describing a DLC pack just like that, except I also suggested adding a new map that would take place in his story mode and would be available for multiplayer.

Yeah I was thinking future DLC would be something around there. If the DLC will indeed be close to this, I would definately buy it ASAP.

I actually think that Jaffe might do a free add on that adds in the characters. A classic death match arcade mode with CG/comic style endings. I have been reading what Jaffe has been tweeting and saying in interviews and so far it seems like he understands that people aren't liking the only 3 characters element.

BUT he isn't going to take up development time and resources that should be used on finishing up and polishing what they already have. IF they have time to add it in (If they are ahead of schedule or the game sees a delay for some reason) they will if they don't then its going to get addressed via DLC.

I think charging for an arcade mode (Lets say 10 bucks) might be one way to go BUT I think that Jaffe wouldn't want to piss off the fans so maybe he goes with a free arcade mode download 2-3 months after the game is out to bulk up the single player.

By doing it as DLC you can start it towards the end of development (2 months before the game is shipped basically at a point were they are just testing the game) and release it after the game comes out but for free so its not like you are paying for something that should have been in the game.

I don't know really thats just my take based on what Jaffe has been saying in tweets, That IGN podcast, and other interviews. It seems like he knows its an issue but isn't going to compromise other aspects of the game to fix it so if it can't get done out of the box then it will have to wait until DLC (Free or not).

id prefer a DLC that had like 10 characters (he mentioned something about that) that cost money so that sony and ESP could make enough of a profit to consider further DLC support. i dont mind paying good money for good content. if they were to add all characters and cars and possibly even rehashed maps from older games it be worth in the hundreds of dollars to me i.e. full character & car pack $60, full map pack $60 etc. prolly not too realistic but if you guys are talkin free DLC then your also talkin very limited DLC support.

Overall the C is where I want to vote. Let Jaffe do his own thing.

I have not seen the final product, but I want to say that it will show more backstory and development. Appearances by some of the other Characters should still make since if they appear.
Like Outlaw/ Outlaw 2- The law appears to stop High Octane/ Twisted Metal and using VO's and Textboxes (Dynasty Warriors) make their appearance.
With the National Guard- Warthog appears.

Sweetooth runs over/kills a woman and a blackman is nearby who swears revenge (Axel in TMB)

Going into the backstory of tech would also help.
The OMNI laser being developed by law enforcement to safely take down criminals.
The Spectre Cruise missle using some sort of phasing tech to pass through walls.

Switching cars is allright. But I do want one skin exclusive to each faction. Sweetooth's mecha-truck should be clown exclusive for example.
Darkside could have a Semi with a Giant Dollmask covering its grill and carring an Artillery box. As well as that Yellow Locus-looking sportscar.
Grimm could have the Cycle from The Dark Knight -Batman movie, with large Voodoo skulls on its flanks.

that sounds like the mac truck from maximum overdrive except with the dollface face instead of the goblin face.

Certainly I was disappointed that some of my favorite characters weren't going to have their stories told and I had to wrap my head around the four main characters being able to use any vehicle they wanted but I fall in the category of people who want David, Scott and crew to innovate the series how they see fit. I want to be surprised, like that first time playing TM2 or that first time discovering Black was a whole new style of TM.

Also I like MonkeyKing's ideas for dlc.

Probably been mentioned already but the complaints about SP leave TM ripe for a great DLC mode.

One DLC pack that contains 10-12 classic cars (NO vehicles exclusive to TMPS3).
Allow these classic cars to be open for multiplayer modes.

8 exclusive arenas made up of classic levels like Paris, Rooftops and Cyburbia.

A TEXT storyline for each character: consisting of a car select bio, a text ending and to make up for no animated endings have those little story snippets in between levels like TMB and Critical Depth.

This could be GREAT DLC imo and at the same time it helps pacify the nay sayers.

I don't think this would be very difficult to implement. Text stories wouldn't take more than a few months to write for all characters and many would be just twists on old storylines anyway.

Also throw Minion and Dark Tooth in there as classic cameo bosses.

A decent $10-$20 dlc package? And one that could be built long after the game has released.

And another way to add some cars that might have been omitted from the core game (and any smaller carpacks available for dlc).

TMPS3 is very RIPE for this gents
(I like the word 'ripe' btw)

I'd go with A because I think 3 characters is just too few, I don't mind having a new gameplay progression formula and it's less intrusive to whatever Dave wants to do with the game.

dude try $40 or more DLC pack, thats almost a whole TM in and of itself. but thats what im saying about expect to pay decent money for good DLC content if you want Sony and ESP to invest time and money into it. i got no problem paying top dollar for that shit cuz i want the content to be good.

I'd hope Sony would want to keep the price down on something like this and at least make it possible.

IF they made a seperate dlc campaign you can almost bet it'd be text stories to keep costs down. I couldn't even see them putting the effort into comic anime movies like tm2...

If they did some sort of Arcade campaign mode with 12-14 classic characters with comic style endings in a classic style deathmatch mode (No new levels just using existing multi-player and single player levels maybe throw in 2-3 new levels) it would likely be 15-20 bucks. That's a lot of content a ton of new endings plus a more classic single player experience as well as some levels thrown in.

As far as levels DLC there will likely be a classic world tour pack with 10 new levels (Paris, Rome, Antarctica, ect) for 10-15 bucks. All in all there is likely going to be 2-3 packs for DLC totaling 30-40 bucks.

they can really do both if they wanted i know that they are 2 completly differnt games but when people started complaining about tony hawk  games neversoft gave them classic mode which gave the player the option to choose between the newer free roaming or the classic 2 minute runs, and ESP could do something like that have story mode which will be the 3 characters sweet tooth grim and doll face and then also have a mode for the fans of the classic games of the series which will have maybe 8 characters that have been in tm 1 2 black or head on and then the new ones like vermon and that other one that i always forget the name of,  and this mode doesn't need great stories because its the secondary mode of the game, and the set up of that game would have the same old 8 level set up with 4 levels, minion 4 more levels other boss and then the game is beat with that specific characters, even if it uses some of the levels from the main story mode it would be fine
